The optional engine, a 2.7-liter EcoBoost twin-turbo V-6, offers 310 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. The 7-speed manual transmission is only available with the 2.3-liter engine. However, both are available with a 10-speed automatic. This SUV offers strategically placed steel bash plates to protect critical hardware. An available upgraded steel front bash plate, engine/transmission, transfer case shields, and fuel tank bash plate are added to higher-capability models. For those taking on the roughest, rocky terrain, Bronco's available side rock rails are strong enough to support the weight of each side of the vehicle. Bash plates are standard on Black Diamond, Badlands, and Everglades.
Classic Styling with a Modern Twist
The styling pays tribute to the classic 1966-77 Bronco, so you get round headlights encased in a single-piece rectangular grille. There is a Ford emblem on the left side of the rear tailgate, just like the Bronco from the 80s and 90s. Every Bronco comes with class-exclusive frameless doors that one person can remove. There are also available roof options that allow you to remove a section or remove the whole top. The interior of the Bronco is simple, with bold lines and easy-to-reach physical buttons and controls. It also offers easy, clean seats, and the floor is rubberized with drain holes to wash the mud out.
