How powerful is the Grand Cherokee?
If you are looking for power, you have come to the right place with the 2023 Grand Cherokee, which has three available engines designed to knock your socks off! The base engine is a 3.6-liter V6 set to deliver a stark 293 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. If you decide on one of the higher trims, such as the Overland or the Summit, you will be treated to a spectacular 5.7-liter V8 that rips out 357 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. Perhaps the best of the bunch is the plug-in hybrid known as the 4xe, which uses a turbocharged four-cylinder as a base and then adds a battery pack and two electric motors to create a massive 375 horses and 470 lb-ft of torque and 25 miles of all-electric range. All of these engines pair with a smooth eight-speed automatic transmission, and while the V6 comes standard with rear-wheel-drive, a four-wheel-drive is available. Four-wheel-drive is standard on all other engines!
Features of the Grand Cherokee
No matter what trim level you go with, the Grand Cherokee is one of the most well-equipped SUVs ever created, even at the base trim level. The Laredo is that base trim as it comes standard with a Uconnect 5 infotainment system with an 8.4-inch digital touchscreen, wireless Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Amazon Alexa compatibility. Higher trims double down on the fantastic tech with a passenger-side touchscreen, air suspension, massaging front seats, ultra-premium McIntosh audio system, and a night vision camera. Then there are the luxury items! Higher trims are spectacular for them, as you get leather seats, a sunroof, a more extensive and functional touchscreen infotainment system, and heated seats. Seeing how the Grand Cherokee is a Jeep vehicle, you know it will have outstanding off-road capability! Standard off-road items include front tow hooks, a front-facing camera, a gloss black roof, hill ascent and descent control, an electronic rear limited-slip differential, all-terrain tires, and an adaptive air suspension with selectable ride height settings.
Keeping safe in the Grand Cherokee
Jeep has always been dedicated to keeping you safe, which is why the Grand Cherokee comes loaded with safety systems! Standard is an Adaptive Cruise Control system allowing drivers to maintain a pre-set distance between the Grand Cherokee and the vehicle in front of them. A Lane Keeping Assist system will keep you between the painted lines and can even course-correct you back into your lane if needed. The final safety system we will discuss is Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear-Cross Path Detection, which will monitor the areas around your Grand Cherokee so you can see all of the vehicles in the other lanes and behind you, allowing you to make safer lane changes. Other standard safety systems include a Forward Collision Mitigation system and Rear Parking Sensors.
