All versions of the Chevy Traverse come with a 3.6-liter V6 that kicks out an amazing 310 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. The engine pairs with a nine-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel-drive, though you do have the option of four-wheel-drive if you choose. The LT Cloth trim takes things up a notch with heated front seats, a power-adjustable power seat, remote engine start, an 8-inch high-definition touchscreen, and a power liftgate. There is an LT Premium package available for the Traverse, which adds 20-inch wheels, an integrated navigation system, a digital rearview mirror, and a 360-degree camera system. Higher trims add more luxury and tech features such as a heated steering wheel, blacked-out styling cues, LED headlights, a hands-free liftgate, heated and ventilated rear seats, and wireless device charging. On the top-level High Country, you get such wonderful features as a panoramic sunroof, several trailering enhancements, and a power-folding third-row seat.
Tell me about the safety features of the Traverse
There are several safety systems available for the Chevy Traverse, thanks to Chevy’s Safety Assist package. On the LT Leather trim, the Traverse comes with a Forward Collision Warning System with Automatic Braking, which will warn you of an impending collision and apply the brakes in certain scenarios. Then there is the Lane-Keeping Assist system which can steer the Traverse back into its lane if it happens to drift outside the painted lines. You also get a Blind-Spot Monitoring System with Rear-Cross Traffic Alert, which will let you know if there is another vehicle in your blind spot and help you change lanes safer. The High Country trim adds an Adaptive Cruise Control System and an enhanced version of the Automatic Emergancy Braking System.
